- Didn't work for me... Review by Owen
-
I bought this unit in the hope that it would read the ECU data from my 2010 Fuso Canter, but it didn't. The unit seems to receive data from the truck, but the software reports that the ECU is not OBDII compliant. I am pretty convinced that this is a software issue, not a hardware issue, but when I asked the question I was just referred to the link given in the first review. That annoyed me a bit I must say. Surely the guys who build these things should know if they will work on a specific vehicle or not. Not a happy customer.

RESPONSE: Unfortunately, we do not have a list of which vehicles will or will not work with our scan tools. What we do know is that any vehicles that are OBDII compliant will work with any of our scan tools. It is not a hardware or a software issue, its a compliance issue. Small cars and trucks manufactured here in the US are required to be OBDII compliant as of 1996, but as for others many are just not. We do offer a 90-day money back guarantee. You can email us if you are interested.(Posted on 11/21/12)

RESPONSE: All of our scan tools, like most generic scan tools, are not compatible with OBD-I vehicles. The article on the following page can help determine compliance if you are unsure: https://www.scantool.net/support/index.php?_m=knowledgebase&_a=viewarticle&kbarticleid=2&nav=0,1

Key features are it has life time updates to the firmware, WIFI is great for eliminating cables, works on PC as well as my Ipad and Iphone with (Dash Command app). This is definitely a good scan tool for any.

- Beats the competition hands down! Review by Joseph Hoffman [Amazon Review]

I love this tool, it has more options and features than I would use as a mechanic. Mostly I use it for diagnosing problems with cars in order to fix the correct problem. Free updates for life and wireless connectivity are just a few options that make this tool worth it's weight ( or lack there of ) in gold. For the price you could get a hand held tool for the same price or more. Or you could get a tool that does it all for a very, very reasonable price! As soon as I found this I knew it was what I needed and wanted. Thanks for such a great product!

Does what they say it does. I haven't used it with an I-phone yet but I can say it is great with a lap-top. Diagnosed my mothers Camry to a specific cylinder. And my brother-in-laws Dakota.
