It's great to have a new tool available to get on the SW and MS CAN bus.
1) At this time, is there any software that will support these 2 new additions to the new OBDLink MX scan tool?
2) Does OBDWiz or Scan XL have anything planned if we need additional options added to the software?
3) Aren't these bus options for enhanced functionality only?
4)If OBDWiz or ScanXL are going to be adding updates, when can we expect a new release supporting the SW & MS Can Bus.
5)Other than adding SW and MS CAN, will this work on a wider range of vehicles than the OBDLINK or OBDLINK SX?

Hi Shawn,

1. Palmer Performance is currently adding support for the new protocols (enhanced packages).
2. They are open to suggestions. If you have ideas, feel free to post it on the forum or contact them directly.
3. Yes. One benifit to adding these protocols is that it allows users to hack their vehicle. We rented a Chevy, in within a couple hours we were writing custom messages on the dash. We were also able to tell which seat belts were engaged and door locks. We could also control a few of the external lights (eg: brake lights).
4. I can't make any promises, but I know Palmer has been working hard to add the new functionality.
5. They are running the same firmware for the OBD-II protocols, so they will support the same range of vehicles.
