Hi,

Unfortunately, the Land Rover diesel is not OBD-II compliant and it was not until 2003 - 2004 that it was mandated in Europe that diesel powered vehicles had to comply with the protocol.

Although the Elm5 scan tool is capable of connecting to your vehicle, it would require software specially written for the vehicle. Your vehicle is KWP 2000 ( ISO) compliant.

2003 Cadillac DTS. Success!

Faster access to code besides digging through the Cadillac dashboard buttons.  Great to be able to record trips and create custom dashboards to better interpret the myriad of information available.

A shame...I have a 1994 Cadillac Concours that can do all this software can on its own...but the government said everybody had to play fair post 94 so Cadillac went backwards to accommodate the rest of the industry.

All in all having much success and love the software.

What i think is an ELM327 clone successfully scanned, reset CEL, and viewed live data on an '05 MINI Cooper.

Hi Cam,

Clones are a hit or miss game.  Basically, you never know what your going to get.

Scanner: Elmscan 5 Compact
Software: ScanXL

Vehicles
2002 Mazda Protege5, 2.0L, automatic (Enter vehicle identification as 'Other', otherwise ScanXL's Mazda codes, for which an additional package is needed to activate the Mazda PIDs, overrides the generic PIDs and neither set of PIDs is accessible)

2009 Honda CRV, 2.4L, automatic

My OBDLink SX works great on:
2001 Oldsmobile Alero
2006 Kia Sedona LX.

I used OBD Wiz today to calculate Gas Mileage from my car.
I'd love to take this out on a test Drive of a new car and see what the actual MPGs are that you get compared to the estimated.
