Can trouble codes be injected with a scan tool?
« on: May 19, 2025, 06:46:38 pm »
I'm a Chevy Spark EV owner. I have primarily used the OBDLink LX to log data and connect torque pro and use ABRP for EV data-enabled navigation.

Thinking about any of the OBDLink products (MX), is it possible to create a script or conditional statement that can induce limp mode or an associated trouble code so throttle and speed are intentionally reduced? Is there any advanced functionality that can adjust these limits without a trouble code? This could benefit EVs that don't do enough for batteries with weak cells at a low state of charge.

This may be possible using a 3rd party app or creating one yourself.

I would recommend doing some research or checking other forums to see if it is possible or if anyone has been able to figure it out.
