Why won't this work
« on: February 04, 2016, 04:35:39 am »
I just got my Obdlink mx Wi-Fi. It will connect to the app that comes with it but will not connect to dashcommand. I've tried contacting scantool.net but I'm not getting answered. Its connected to a 2002 GMC sierra 2500hd with the 6.0ltr engine in the US. I've tried connecting with a iPhone 6plus and also my iPad mini air 3 with no luck on either. I get obd2 interface not found. Please help. Thanks

DashCommand is developed by a third party. I've forwarded your inquiry to their support team. Thanks for your patience!

If your DashCommand app will not connect to your OBDLink MX WiFi and reports that the interface is not found.

First check your iOS device and look at the reported DHCP WiFi settings for IP, gateway and router addresses, if the router is showing 0.0.0.0 this could be your problem.

Try accessing the config mode of the OBDLink and enter 192.168.0.10 IP in the gateway field, then save and exit.

But If the router address is already reporting as 192.168.0.10 then try the following.

In DC try changing the OBD-II data port from auto to 192.168.0.10 and set the port to 35000, then try connecting to the OBDLink MX again.

Type of iPhone doesn't matter the layout is always the same...
So to check the WiFi settings
Go to settings
Select WiFI
Connect to your OBD WiFi then select the blue i (info) icon there you will see the IP, Subnet, Router and DNS addresses of your connection.

Config mode on the ODB is better done on a laptop (from my experience).  On the OBD press the button 3 times then connect to the WiFi and then in your browser go to obdconifg.com

The settings in DC are under settings, scroll down to connection and there is a setting for OBD-II data port, this is set on default to Auto, select and input the IP as 192.168.0.10 and port 35000.

Hope that helps
